The pewter gold Crucifix and Center are "out-lined" in green enamel. The shamrock beads are made of ceramic and then glazed for protection. The pewter gold center of St. Patrick is surrounded by a shamrock outlined in green to match the Crucifix. Saint Patrick was a Christian missionary and is regarded as the patron saint of Ireland along with Brigid of Kildare and Columba. St. Patrick lived from AD 373-493, and ministered in northern Ireland from AD 433 until his death. His feast day is March 17th.
